Audrey Martinovich
Audrey Martinovich (she/her) is an audio engineer, music producer, and educator based in Madison, Wisconsin. She co-owns and operates Audio for the Arts Recording Studios where she specializes in recording acoustic instruments and voice, in addition to teaching at UW–Madison.
In 2017, Audrey became the first regular female contributor to Production Expert and Pro Tools Expert, industry blogs which provide knowledge and training to over 6 million yearly visitors. A year later, Audrey was a finalist to receive the award for Breakthrough Studio Engineer from Pro Sound Europe in recognition of her work recording some of the score for Dragged Across Concrete. In 2020, she joined the Recording Academy as a voting member and in 2021 she was elected as a Governor on the Chicago Chapter board, and she currently serves as Chair of the Producers & Engineers Wing Committee.
Audrey has led seminars for SoundGirls, Omni Sound Project, and Empowering Women in Audio Clinics that cover a range of topics from recording techniques to overcoming imposter syndrome.
She has also mentored future audio engineers through programs with Girls Rock Camp – Madison, GRAMMY U, and Summer Music Clinics. Audrey is passionate about education and taught audio production at Edgewood College, Madison Media Institute prior to joining the staff at UW. Audrey is a regular contributor to iZotope’s learning community, writing articles that focus on audio cleanup and production tips.
Some of her engineering credits include Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Roscoe Mitchell, Johannes Wallmann, live stand-up comedy albums for Comedy Central, and even running live sound for Reebok on a barge floating in the middle of Lake Monona.
