A native of Hangzhou, China, pianist Zeru Wang is a Doctoral of Musical Arts candidate in piano performance studying with Professor Christopher Taylor at the University of Wisconsin, Madison Mead Witter School of Music. He holds his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia under Dr. Peter Miyamoto. Currently, Mr. Wang serves as the collaborative pianist and vocal coach at Gonzaga University.

Mr. Wang is a prize-winner of many international and national piano competitions including the WPTA (World Piano Teacher Association) International Piano Competition, the Joyeux International Piano Competition, the Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music, and the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) Young Artist Piano Competition. Currently, he has been selected as one of the semi-finalists of the 2022 International George Gershwin Piano Competition in New York at the National Opera Center. In addition to the 2021 Beethoven Competition held by the University of Wisconsin, he was selected as the winner of the 2015 MU Concerto Competition and the 2015 MU Emerging Artist Competition. At both the University of Missouri and the University of Wisconsin, Mr. Wang received various scholarships including Jack Radunsky Award, Leo Steffens Award, the 2018 Leon & Josephine Iltis Award, and Jan Blankenship Memorial Scholarship.

As equally passionate as producing solo piano music, Mr. Wang enjoys performing collaborative and chamber music with both faculties and students from the University of Missouri, Interharmoy International Music Festival, Odyssey Summer Music Festivals, and Bowdoin International Summer Music Festival. In 2018 he was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York with the Interharmony Chamber Music Series. In addition, he has collaborated with prominent musicians such as Saeka Matsuyama, Jonathan Weber, and Miho Zaitsu and many outstanding students from various institutions around the world. As an active teacher, Mr. Wang enjoys giving private lessons to students of all ages. He has also conducted master classes on Chopin repertoires and lectures on Piano Literature at the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. Wang has appeared in the master classes of Richard Goode, Sergei Babayan, Alessio Bax, Julian Martin, Marina Lomazov, Julio Elizalde, Gabriel Chodos, and Corey Hamn. He has studied with Peter Serkin, Yoon Hi Moon, Douglas Humphreys, Natalya Antonova, Bruce Brubaker, Sean Duggan, Sang Woo Kang, and Daniela Mineva at summer festivals.
