Yorkville High School serves 2,033 students at two campuses, with 548 students currently enrolled in a music course. The Yorkville High School Music Department consists of four concert bands, two jazz bands, 160-member volunteer marching band, pep band, three orchestras, six choirs, three general music courses, AP music theory, and numerous chamber ensembles. In addition to curricular and extracurricular school ensembles, Yorkville has a community jazz band and community concert band.

The Yorkville High School Wind Ensemble annually performs four concerts and attends 1-2 festivals such as, University of Illinois Superstate, Illinois State University, and the Plainfield Invitational. The ensemble has had the honor of performing at IMEC in 2017 and has been accepted to the prestigious University of Illinois SuperState Concert Band Festival seven times since 2012, earning the “Honor Band” distinction in 2012 and 2014. In 2013, the ensemble had their debut performance at Orchestra Hall in Chicago. In 2016 & 2022, the ensemble was featured as a “Showcase Band” at the annual Western Illinois University Showcase of Bands Festival. The Yorkville High School Wind Ensemble works regularly with world-renown performers, clinicians, conductors, and composers.
