Molly Hennig is a master’s student of historical musicology at the Mead Witter School of Music and a recipient of the Leland Coon Fellowship and teaching assistantship for musicology. She will earn her MA in Spring 2023 with an area of specialty in voice under Dr. Julia Rottmayer. Molly earned her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance and music industry at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2021. Her research on Schumann’s “Frauenliebe und Leben” is in Volume XV of the Oshkosh Scholar, and her awards from Oshkosh include the Provost’s Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Research and the 2019 Concerto Competition.

Molly has presented at the Midwest Graduate Music Consortium regarding her research on her master’s thesis, which in part explores the history and identity of opera house buildings in Wisconsin. As a composer, Molly has worked with Libby Larsen and David Evan Thomas for the 2021 Source Song Festival and with Lori Laitman and the Cincinnati Song Initiative as part of the NATS Mentoring Program for Composers in 2022.
