Kelby Schnepel is a master’s student studying Orchestral Conducting with Oriol Sans. At UW–Madison he serves as one of the Assistant Conductors of the UW–Madison Symphony Orchestra, Assistant Conductor for UW Opera,  and conducts both the  UW Medical Sciences Orchestra and All-University String Orchestra. Kelby was previously orchestra director at Norfolk Academy and was also an adjunct professor at Virginia Wesleyan University where he taught music theory and directed the chamber orchestra.  Kelby has participated in masterclasses and festivals led by noted conducting teachers Victor Yampolsky, Don Schleicher, Dianne Wittry, and Larry Rachleff. A strong supporter of music education and arts in education, Kelby holds both a Bachelors and Masters of Music Education from Old Dominion University.
