Yaoji Lin’s Method and How It Influenced Violin Pedagogy in China
……
Currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree with Professor Dawn Wohn at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, violinist Xinzhe Ning shares her passion and devotion for classical music through professional and community engagements.
As an experienced orchestral and chamber musician for over two decades, she regularly performs with regional ensembles, such as the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra and the Wisconsin Philharmonic, to bring exquisite classical music to audiences. In 2025, Ms. Ning was appointed as the concertmaster of the Madison Community Orchestra, and she performed the beloved Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto with the ensemble to share her Chinese culture with the community. By immersing herself in classical music, she continues to contribute her love of classical music by collaborating with brilliant musicians.
As a violinist, Ms. Ning has worked closely with Robert Spano, Darrett Adkins, Stephen Wyrczynski, Keith Lockhart, Timothy Lees, Carolin Chin, Benjamin Sung, Martin Chalifour, Ronald Patterson, Rachel Barton Pine, Si Yan Darren Li, Katie Kadarauch, and Barbara Bogatin. She was a recipient of the UW-Madison Dissertation Fellowship, Barringere Music Scholarship, Lieber Violin Scholarship, Evert B. Person Scholarship, and Roxy Roth Scholarship. Ms. Ning has actively participated in musical festivals to enrich her experience as a performer and educator. She participated the Aspen Music Festival in the summer of 2025, studying with Professor Espen Lilleslåtten. She has previously attended the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina, the Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival in Florida, and the Rocky Ridge Music Festival in Colorado.
