Claire Whitney is a violinist and educator based in Madison, WI. She is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing her Master’s degree in Violin Performance, where she studies with Eugene Purdue. She received her Bachelor’s in Violin Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she studied with Leanne Kelso. Claire is currently a member of the Middleton Community Orchestra and the brand-new Madison Gamer Symphony Orchestra, and she has performed with the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra and Symphony 847- a semi-professional group based in her native state of Illinois.

Claire currently studies chamber music with Suzanne Beia and is a member of the Harper Quartet, which has performed for public events such as the Magnum Opus Ballet Company. Her current musical interests include orchestral performance, historical performance, and pedagogy- which she fosters with her budding private studio.

Outside of music Claire enjoys visiting with her family- especially her little sisters- and spending time outdoors. She also devotes a lot of time to spoiling her cat, Harper.
