Joseph Mahin is a Master of Music student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison studying Orchestral Conducting with Professor Oriol Sans. At UW–Madison, he serves as co-conductor of the Medical Sciences Orchestra and the All-University Philharmonia Orchestra, also periodically conducting the University Symphony Orchestra. Joe is a conducting fellow with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra for their 25-26 season.
Before joining the conducting program in Madison, he studied in Manchester, England, at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Music Performance. While in the UK, Joe worked with youth ensembles including the Warrington Youth Orchestra and the Macclesfield Youth Brass Band, serving as both conductor and tutor. His experiences abroad also include leading musical projects with RNCM ensembles, assisting conductor Lawrence Foster with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and performing with several of the UK’s leading brass bands. Outside of his musical work, Joe is passionate about mentoring youth and serving in Christian ministry.
