This April marks an important milestone for the annual Varsity Band Spring Concert, as the band celebrates its 50th show.

What began as a modest campus performance has evolved into one of UW–Madison’s most iconic traditions, uniting generations of students, alumni, and fans for a mix of music, energy, and spectacle. The very first Spring Concert, held on March 21, 1975 in Mills Concert Hall, set the stage for a legacy that has only grown louder and more electrifying.

Highlights for this year’s show include “Music of Lady Gaga,” “Wicked,” “Music of Rihanna,” and longtime favorites like “Space Badgers,” “If You Want To Be A Badger,” and the signature Badger Band Finale.

Ticket are available for the April 17 and April 18 performances.
