Trained by Venezuela’s El Sistema program and performing with the UW-Madison Symphony Orchestra, the revered solo trumpeter Pacho Flores brings an innovative, fresh sound to a traditional style. Ginastera: Estancia: Four Dances; Márquez: Concierto de Otoño; Mozart: Symphony No. 41 (Jupiter)

This UWSO concert will open with Alberto Ginastera’s Four Dances from Estancia, a very exciting suite of four movements the composer extracted from the whole ballet. In collaboration with the Wisconsin Union Theater, world renowned trumpetist Pacho Flores will perform with the ensemble the Concierto de Otoño, a spectacular trumpet concerto Mexican composer Arturo Márquez wrote for him. In the second half the orchestra will perform Mozart’s Symphony No, 41. Written three years before his death, his last instance of the genre contains every detail of Mozart’s genius, from an absolute control of the compositional craft, until an infite creative power.
