Mengwen Zhu is a senior piano performance and neurobiology major who has the honor to study with Prof. Jessica Johnson at the UW-Madison Mead Witter School of Music. While refining his piano skills and musical instincts in the past four years, Mengwen developed his unique understanding of keyboard music and accumulated some of his favorite repertoire. In addition to piano playing, he also works as an undergraduate research assistant in Wisconsin Institute of Medical Research in the laboratory of Dr. Robert A. Pearce. Over the past four years, Mengwen’s research abstracts have been selected for presentation in Association of University Anesthesiologists (AUA) and Society for Neuroscience (SfN) and he has a recent publication in Neuropharmacology. Mengwen also volunteers at Interim Healthcare Hospice.
